Video Performance with Original Music [5’]
Bio: Tom Dugdale creates installations and performances in theatrical situations, directing, writing, designing, and composing music for works that explore the membrane between performer and performance, the limits of intimacy and sentiment, and overlaps of performance and health. Hold Me is the first episode of Since you asked (2021), a six-hour video performance in twelve distinct parts. His most recent project, Sometimes I make the shape of a hug with my arms and imagine you inside it, is an interactive installation that invites visitors to assemble their own soundtracks of love and loss. Tom is invested in the idea of art as a ritual of resilience and recovery, and through a number of current projects, he is examining how performance can destigmatize addiction. Tom lives and works in Columbus, Ohio, USA.
