PICTURE BERLIN Summer Session 2016

Join us for a summer of public events happening at tête! (and a few other locations around town!)

PICTURE BERLIN, founded in 2009, is a not for profit artist-initiated hybrid residency/art academy. PICTURE BERLIN currently offers two residency programs.

This Summer we are proud to offer the following (mostly) free public events to the community. Most events are located at tête (Schönhauser Allee 161a), or otherwise marked:

2 July - Saturday 

19.30 — PICTURE BERLIN’s Summer Session 2016 Inaugural Show > tête

 

5 July - Tuesday 

18.00 - ArtScience Slam; Simon Faithfull, Jannis Hülsen, Harald Krutiak, Elizabeth McTernan, Ines Lechleitner, Timo Nasseri, Maria Isabel Rochas, Pablo Rochas, Anja Sattelmacher, Alex Toland and Myriel Milicevic, Justus Weiß, Noam Libeskind, will be speaking about one of their projects in a PECHA-KUCHA style presentation format. This event has an €8 admission fee which includes dinner. >ZK/U

17.00 - 22.00 - They Shoot Horses, Don’t They? A Curatorial Marathon

This event has a fee of €8 which includes 10 presentations, dinner and the screening of 7 films. 

PICTURE BERLIN will be hijacking the weekly Speisekino event to combine it with their 5th annual Curatorial Marathon. Ten curators from a variety of exhibition spaces will speak in a Pecha-Kucha style event about their practice. Following the Marathon and dinner, a series of short films will be shown, chosen by the curators, made by artists they have worked with. The curators include; Kate Brehme, Michael Dooney, Hannah Goldstein & Katja Haustein, Jesi Khadivi, Pauline Doutrelinguine, Tina Sauerländer, Stéphane Bauer, An Paenhuysen, Adrienne Goehler and Sara Barnes.
